so i submitted a question during a discussion time with Erwin McManus this week and he addressed it last night:

"I moved to L.A. from the Bible belt to pursue my dreams. Why do I seem more disconnected from God (or even less spiritual) here than I did back home?"

Answer: L.A. helps you to know who you really are.

Yeah. I'll just leave it at that ... that's a great way to set up my forthcoming blogs.

oh girl.

i've felt so sadly sadly sadly NOT spiritual since i moved to seminary.... and i'm NOT comparing myself to other seminary wives.

so... does that mean that seminary helps me know who i really am?

Maybe you are connecting in a different way that you have yet to recognize?

mandy, i've heard it said that these moments reveal the true nature of our faith. if what erwin was saying is true (and i believe ... sadly ... that for me it is), then i'm glad i found out now.

korey, i wish i could say that. but i'm almost certain i'm not connecting at all. i just read psalm 51 today ... that's pretty much me in a nutshell right now.
